lyrics
falling underneath the sky.
you don’t even know why.
you can’t see the problem.
people try to talk to you.
nothing can get through.
nothing even matters.
know that you need to get better.
know that the love for you is strong.
know that we want you to feel better.
but know that what you feel is wrong.
helpless beneath the cloud.
falling down in a grownup world.
know that you need to get better.
know that the love for you is strong.
know that we want you to feel better.
but know that what you feel is wrong.
i wanna help you--no i mean no harm.
i saw you throw that phone last night.
oh yeah, i really want to sit and talk with you,
but i say “see you later,” and i hide away from it.
i saw you cryin again tonight.
i wanna help you but i just don’t know.
no you need to realize what is wrong,
oh and you're not the only one.
know that you need to get better.
know that the love for you is strong.
know that we want you to feel better.
but know that what you feel is wrong...

music origins summer ‘02. lyrical origins late ‘04, inspired by an emotional family crisis which at the time was spiraling out of control. i admit i’ve actually shed tears while playing this. i really wanted a song featuring maryam’s piano skills and thought this song would allow for some improvisation. we ended up with so many tracks that i just randomly started piecing them together. thought the delay effect added a nice touch, including the random sound at the beginning of the song which was an unplanned result of the software rendering. the percussion sounds were made by banging a drumstick against the metal baking tray from my old toaster oven. i love the climax at the end and think it’s a nice last song. daryn’s & nyck’s vox and guitar recorded live in one take jan. ‘06. coronet recorded in nyck’s parents basement may ‘06. maryam’s piano recorded in her apartment aug. ‘06.
