lyrics
baby do you remember,
on that cold day in december,
when i took you to the show?
it was magic. it was true.
i was so into you.
i was happy as any boy could be--can’t you see?
baby now i miss you,
all i wanna do is kiss you,
and hold you till the end of our days.
i've got your picture on the wall--
even though you never, ever call.
and since you've been gone for so, so fuckin long--
things just haven't been the same.
there's a void in my heart, and it's tearin' me apart.
now i need you to come back to me.
baby i miss you, and i need you, and i just wanna kiss you,
cause i miss you, and i need you, and i just wanna kiss you,
cause i miss you, and i need you, and i just wanna kiss you,
cause i miss you, and i need you...
baby come back to me, would you please???

fall ‘01 origins. i remember the night i was inspired to write this song. i was in our house at 115 evanston in college, listening to oldies and wanted to write a song in that style. specifically inspired by “that boy” by the beatles. lyrics completed and song originally recorded in spring ‘03 as part of the dudemen “daytona ep” with nyck sounding like elvis singing in a lower octave. thought the random “f-bomb” out of nowhere was hilariously unexpected. always wanted to re-record vocals in a higher octave. new guitar solos and new percussion recorded apr. ‘07. nyck’s vocal parts re-recorded dec. ‘07 (but the “elvis” vocal track is still hidden toward the end of the song). all original guitar parts & bass were kept.
